RECAP: Community Open House introduces League City to the Wizard Energy Storage Facility.

Last week, we proudly hosted a Community Open House in League City to introduce the residents to energy storage and the Wizard project.

The event had informational booths ranging from technology and safety to community benefits, the project’s permitting process, and more. Residents had the opportunity to stop by each booth learn about these topics and ask questions. Information shared at each booth will soon be available online.

It’s encouraging to see a company with interest in League City hold an event that offers our community transparency into their plans and an opportunity to make their voices heard.
— Councilman Sean Saunders, who attended Thursday’s event

There are lot of misconceptions about energy storage projects, and this event was used to explain the leading technology we use along with our commitment to safety.

All energy storage projects must meet rigorous codes and standards to be permitted to operate, and our standards exceed industry, government, and fire safety requirements in multiple key aspects. The Wizard facility utilizes American software and its technology touts unparalleled, flawless safety records.

We believe it’s important to engage the community before the permitting processes take place, and we will continue to be an active community partner throughout the life of the project.
— Kevin Conger, Peregrine's lead developer

Beyond providing power to homes and businesses, limiting power outages, and making Texas’ electric grid more stable with reliable, affordable energy, these projects also offer economic benefits by way of tremendous tax dollars that go towards roads, schools and first responders.

League City residents are invited to give feedback on the project to help address any community needs or concerns.
